Happy Thanksgiving 2020

This year has been trying, to say the least. The stress and uncertainty these last months has been frustrating and at times like this, it can be hard to be grateful. Even though our holiday season looks different than usual, our team wanted to take some time to acknowledge and remember what we’re thankful for this year.

Matthew

“Being thankful for family, friends, & health has never been as real as it has this year. 2020 has unfortunately brought incredible pain and suffering to so many families. For me, the silver lining for this disaster of a year has been that it has caused us to all slow down and pay more attention to the things that matter in life. It seems that over the years, the drive for progress has chiseled away at the important things – only to be replaced with always wanting more and looking to the future for the next big idea.

2020 has forced many of us to slow down and smell the roses, realize that we aren’t promised tomorrow, and most important that we need to soak up as much of today as we can.

On June 7th our first child, a son, Holland was born. I’ve never known love on this level and it has been hands down the best thing that has happened in my life. Seeing his joy every day is contagious and we could learn a thing or two from these little humans! He’s not distracted with worry or the stress of finances, business demands, or any of the other horrible things this year has brought. I’m thankful I have the opportunity to learn from him and to focus on how great life can be in the midst of all the negative. So of course, I’m extremely thankful for the health of the people I love. I’m also thankful that I’m surrounded by a team of incredible people at 8bitstudio that have a strong drive for success but are able to find balance in that and share so many similar values.

My hope is that we don’t fall back into the fast track, remembering to soak up the good that still surrounds us. Together we can help each other not slip back into the monotonous cycle of our previously fast-paced life. Let’s make 2021 about people and protecting this beautiful earth we’ve been entrusted to protect.”

Erika

“I’m thankful for a great deal this year. After many months battling this nasty virus, I was able to recover and have enough energy to get back out into the north woods. The miles of trails winding through the wilderness lends a hand to healing, restoration, and beauty. Each season provides something special, but autumn was an absolute gift.”

Jenn

“I’m thankful for the givers in the world. The people who do their part to make life a little better for others. I truly believe that kindness makes the world go ‘round.”

Katie

“Despite COVID-19, this year has actually been really great. I’m super thankful for the extra time I’ve gotten to spend with my family at our cabin and getting to see my youngest brother officially beat leukemia!

I am also incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join the 8bitstudio team and work with such amazing people! Lastly, I became a dog mom to a crazy corgi named Waffle and he has been the perfect quarantine buddy!”

Alayna

“I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a year daunted with many challenges and unpredictable circumstances. But with that said, I think something really amazing about this year is that it really allowed us to take a step back and be more present in the moment.

Suddenly the hustle and bustle came to a halt and we were able to truly understand what genuinely matters in life. 2020 has taught me that my family, health, and being one with nature are so important. I’m beyond thankful for these things and specifically for an incredible hike I took with my brother Jared and my fiancé Stephen on my birthday this year in Colorado!”

Whatever your holiday season looks like, we hope you are able to take a minute and be thankful, as our 8bitstudio team is thankful for you! We hope you have a fun and safe holiday and a reminder that we will be closed Thursday the 26th and Friday the 27th.

Thank you all and have a great Thanksgiving!
